Neuroscientists around the world continuously battle for cracking the code of the most mysterious machine of the universe, adding their building block, one at a time. Together, by connecting microstructural characteristics to macro scale phenomena, they acquire more and more insight about the functional properties of the brain. This image is inspired by this monumental collaboration, by the opposition of digtal and organic as well as micro and macro worlds. The observer can appreciate neural pathways through a glass frame representing our capacity to study the white matter. It has been synthesized with Blender using diffusion and structural MRI data from the Human Connectome Project, and processed with DIPY and SCILPY tools.
