The laterality, complexity and dynamics of brain functions. I wanted to illustrate the significant similarity and remarkable differences between two hemispheres in our head. The design was based on a connectivity matrix representing brain network. The left and right brains were inspired by the painting styles of two famous Dutch painters, Piet Mondrian and Vincent van Gogh, respectively, which also reflects functional dominance of each hemisphere in traditional view: being rational and passionate.
